About me

I have taught English as a foreign language ever since I worked at a private boarding school in England in 1998. In the years that followed, I gained more experience while teaching ESL at public and private schools in Poland, Japan and Italy. Between 2012 and 2020, I also worked as an elementary school substitute teacher in Italy and the US.

Having taught students of different ages, nationalities and backgrounds and I have always found it easy to empathize with them and see the learning process from their perspective. As a foreign language learner myself, I know how much work and effort it takes to become confident and fluent in a foreign language, especially if you start as an adult. In fact, I am currently learning my fourth foreign language, Italian. What I love most about ESL teaching, apart from helping my students succeed, is the opportunity it gives me to learn about their cultures and languages.

I have a Master of Arts in Teaching ESL and English literature and I also completed a postgraduate course in translation. I have tutored students with a variety of different goals, from communication skills development to exam preparation (TOEIC, TOEFL, Cambridge exams). I am always happy to guide my students through the intricacies of the English language providing customized classes focused on grammar, writing, conversation, pronunciation, listening comprehension and vocabulary enrichment.
